Scenic Division Sales Manager

Reports To:
Sales Department Head

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead the outside sales efforts for our Scenic Division. Our Scenic Division is our pipeline to serve the experiential marketing, events and entertainment industries. This role is responsible for growing our client base for the entertainment side of our business, ensuring customer retention, and managing the sales process of what they sell from lead generation to project closeout. The ideal candidate has experience in sales for events and brand experiences, understands sales process and negotiation, and excels in relationship-building and client coordination. The position reports to the head of the Sales Department.

Client Management & Retention

  • Build our client base for the scenic division, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Oversee client retention efforts and assist project teams in ensuring positive client relationships throughout the project lifestyle.
  • Administer customer retention closeout processes to ensure satisfaction post-project.

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and other effective capturing methods.
  • Assist in new client acquisition and manage new customer onboarding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to understand their scenic fabrication needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company goals.

Project Estimation & Industry Insight

  • Oversee the estimation process for scenic projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and pricing based on project specifications.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and administrative teams to facilitate kick-off meetings for converted contracts.
  • Review and interpret client contracts with a working understanding of key terms, obligations,
  • and risk areas.
  • Coordinate contract execution and maintain organized records of signed agreements,
  • deliverables, and milestones.
  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, materials, and fabrication techniques to provide informed recommendations.

  • Efficient Communicator - Able to communicate effectively with external and internal communications. Able to communicate client needs to the team and to communicate Downtown FabWorks needs to the client.
  • Team leader - Proper estimation requires gathering information from peers and vendors. This person needs to be patient and communicative while understanding how to drive proposals forward with urgency when required.
  • Problem Solving - This is a growing business and there are always unforeseen challenges. Being able to troubleshoot and communicate through a problem with peers is critical toward this role.
  • Efficient Operator - Understands the value of everyone’s time. The person who fills this position needs to make sure that goals are achieved in a timely manner and manages their workflow accordingly.
  • Organized and Able to Scale - Understands the importance of administrative organization, including file and document management, time management, and software to achieve administrative scale.
  • Emotional Intelligence — Has the ability to read people, adapt your approach, and work
  • effectively with a diverse team of skilled craftspeople and creative professionals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in sales in the entertainment, experiential marketing, and/or events industries.
  • Experience in selling projects of at least $200,000 and up.  
  • Able to show their typical sales process in the interview process.  
  • Contract literacy — comfortable reviewing agreement terms and identifying key
  • obligations and risk factors
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • The following software:
    • CRM programs, HubSpot preferred.
    • Google Drive
    • Slack
    • Time management software, including Google Calendar and all of its functionality.
    • Familiarity with project management software preferred.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 annual salary based on experience and fit
  • Commission as per Downtown FabWorks standard sales commission structure
