Pastry World Cup Semifinals 2024

our work

project
description

In June 2024, New Orleans became the first U.S. city to host the Americas selection of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie (also known as the Pastry World Cup), a prestigious global competition that blends artistry, precision, and culinary heritage. Held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the multi-day event brought together top pastry chefs from across North and South America to compete for a place in the world finals. With both the Pastry World Cup and Bocuse d’Or selections on deck, the stage was set for extraordinary creativity and international attention.

the
challenge

For this high-profile, televised competition, every inch of space needed to balance beauty and performance. Our client, Corporate Lighting & Audio, needed a fabrication partner who could create chef-ready workspaces that looked as impeccable under stage lights as they felt under hardworking hands. With live audiences, cameras, and world-class talent onsite, these sets would also provide a foundation for career-defining moments. There was no room for error.

solution

description

We fabricated eight full kitchen stations, finished with maple butcher block countertops and backed by pony-height walls that gave each team a contained, professional workspace. We knew that every minute counted for these chefs, so quality craftsmanship on our end could literally make or break a chef's career. Our team made sure every surface was smooth and every join was secure, making sure that the participants' focus could stay on their craft, not our construction. A separate judging area featured a long, elegant counter wrapped in crisp white luan with Coupe du Monde signage, coordinated brand graphics, and a striking black backdrop with partner logos—all designed to elevate the televised viewing experience. We also fabricated a dedicated station for the Bocuse d’Or Americas selection, three winners’ podiums, 8-foot scenic backdrops, and lockable doors for backstage and storage. From fabrication to final polish, we created a physical framework for excellence—letting the chefs' artistry take center stage.
