Private VIP Event @ Super Bowl LIX

our work

project
description

When Gayle Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints NFL team threw her lavish Super Bowl LIX celebration in City Park, she didn't hold back. Plans for the event included dinner from Galatoire’s, performances by Harry Connick Jr. and the Rebirth Brass Band, and a star-studded guest list. She needed every aspect of the evening to be pitch perfect, with the guests' grand entrance to the party pavilion setting the tone for what was to come.

the
challenge

Our team was asked by event production firm Workshop to fabricate a three-story scale replica of Jackson Square’s iconic Cabildo building to act as the facade of the immense temporary party pavilion erected in City Park specifically for the event.

solution

description

Our technical design team transformed facade designs into shop drawings that informed our team's fabrication decisions. We used wood, foam, plaster, paint, and gold leaf to build true-to-life replicas of the exterior of the Cabildo, with one small change - this version of the building was painted an understated shade of pink in a nod to Mrs. Benson's rare status as one of only a handful of female NFL team owners. Festoons of bougainvillea and graceful Grecian statuary added a final feminine touch.
