We collaborated with SLU theatre professor Steve Schepker and his talented team to translate their design into a hands-on space built with intention. At the heart of the studio, we installed a raised anchor desk with soft LED lighting, flanked by modular columns of light and a vibrant backdrop made of custom wood panels, integrated screens, and hand-finished faux brickwork that echoes the character of the campus. Nearby, we created a flexible interview area with a round wooden platform, Art Deco-inspired screens, and bold brick-style columns accented by illuminated “S” emblems. A wall of windows offers the option for natural light or a more intimate setup, depending on the tone of the production. Furnishings were selected to move and shift easily, giving students the freedom to experiment and adapt. Every detail was shaped with care to help create a space where young storytellers can explore their voice and their future.
