our work

project
description

This tactile and transportable museum exhibit was fabricated for the Louisiana Children’s Museum. Steward’s Ship invites third graders into hands-on learning about Louisiana’s water ecosystems through storytelling, play, and scientific exploration.

the
challenge

The museum asked us to create something both durable and highly interactive—safe for children yet engaging enough to support a full curriculum. It also had to be modular and lightweight, designed for travel to classrooms across the region without sacrificing the immersive experience of a museum visit.

solution

description

The durable, kid-friendly design evokes a classic shrimp boat, complete with a recognizable bow and two foldable sides that extend or collapse for easy setup, breakdown, and shipping. We incorporated tactile learning panels and interactive games that introduce children to wetlands ecology, storm resilience, and the resourcefulness of human and animal adaptations.
