BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier Parish's original History Center in the Bossier Parish Library's Central Branch opened to the public in 1999. For years, it served the public as a research facility, archive, museum, and meeting space. By the mid-2010s, the Parish realized it was time for an update (perhaps a renovation?), but ultimately decided to go big for their home, honoring the library and the parish's history by building an entirely new facility. This gave the History Center a unique opportunity: since everything was being built from the ground up, they could give old exhibits a good, old-fashioned glow-up, and even put in brand-new ones.
The new library opened in 2024, and Prevot Design, Dorand Design Studios, Pendulee, and Downtown FabWorks were chosen to bring the new History Center and its exhibits to life.
