President & Founder Dan Krall introduces FabWorks Scenic and FabWorks Architectural—two distinct divisions created to bring greater clarity to how we work, what we build, and the expertise we bring to every project. Discover how this evolution reinforces our commitment to intentional, purpose-built experiential spaces.

Over the last six and a half years, the Downtown FabWorks team has built an incredible portfolio of work. Many of our projects have been what we call “architectural fabrication” - permanent installations for a variety of environments including museums, event venues, hospitality, and broadcast television. Many other projects have been in the scenic fabrication realm - temporary installations for experiential marketing, sports marketing, brand activations, scenic productions, and corporate events.
That combined portfolio speaks to our ability to see and understand the unique goals of each build with careful attention to timing, durability, location specifics, brand adherence, and user experience. It also speaks to our ability to understand and meet quality requirements across a range of project types. Also of crucial importance is that it speaks to our ability to understand the business side of these equations, ensuring that all parties receive a return on their investment in the project and, by default, in us.
Introducing FabWorks Architectural and FabWorks Scenic
So what’s next? As a company, we’ve consistently punched above our weight, and we’ve built amazing relationships. Now we have to ask ourselves how we’ll continue to grow. How do we continue to improve and evolve? How do we further our understanding of our clients and the industries in which we exist? And how do we best communicate that understanding? After all, we thrive at the intersection of scenic and architectural fabrication, but we’re only able to do that so well because of our deep understanding of each type of build.
The best way that I can see to firmly indicate our expertise and clearly communicate these two separate project pipelines to our clients and internal stakeholders is to formally announce our two divisions: FabWorks Architectural and FabWorks Scenic. We soft-launched these two intentional, strategic pipelines last year as a way of clearing out any potential confusion about our ability and knowledge of the specific needs of each type of project. We’ve separated our project types out this way to better communicate our expertise and to double down on our ability to help painlessly guide you through the fabrication process, from sales to installation (and beyond).

FabWorks Architectural: Driven by Detail, Built to Last
In our Architectural division, we dig deep into the designs, the story, and the details. Projects can take months, or even years, to reach completion. Regardless of whether it’s a five-, six-, seven- or eight-figure project, we work through the challenges and the project unknowns, minding every detail along the way. Our goal as your fabrication partner is to seamlessly integrate with your team for as long as it takes. Your success is our success.

From developing the project schedule, through technical design review, into mock-ups and first articles, your dedicated project team will work hand-in-hand with the architects, exhibit designers, and project owners to ensure all approvals are fulfilled and documented. It’s during that time that we carefully examine each detail, ask clarifying questions, suggest time- and cost-saving solutions as necessary, and make every step to ensure your confidence in your investment in us.
During the fabrication, delivery, and installation phases, the FabWorks Architectural team will walk with you arm-in-arm, remaining mindful of our partnership with the owner and collaborators. Throughout the course of the project, our mission is to work with you to fabricate a finished thematic environment that creates impact and emotional resonance for your intended audience.

FabWorks Scenic: Fast, Flexible, Unforgettable
Our Scenic division works fast. We know that in the entertainment world, sometimes decisions and budgets don’t get set until the last minute. A six- or seven-figure activation might have only a four to eight week turnaround time. And that’s OK. We know how to expedite our process to deliver an experience worthy of the brand’s investment without sacrificing the visual quality of your brand or experience.
Not only do we fabricate the project, the FabWorks Scenic team will deliver and install anywhere you need us. And it doesn’t stop there; our team (including your dedicated project manager and project lead) will be there to support you when the doors open, the audience fills in, and the experience becomes live—and we offer deinstallation and logistical support post-show, as well.

Looking Ahead: More Clarity, More Collaboration
No matter whether the experience is a temporary environment or a permanent one, when you work with the Downtown FabWorks team, you’re working with Good People doing Good Work and providing Excellent Experiences. But it’s important to us to ensure that you understand who we are and what we do—that regardless of the type of project or who the audience is, your story and your goals matter to us.
We get it.
This is our way of making sure that you get us, too.
